The event I have been waiting for (second to the actual birth giving) finally arrived yesterday at The Medical City’s new Women’s Health Center. At around 11Am I had my 4D ultrasound, Congenital Anomally Scan (CAS), and Color Doppler Test (CDT).
First picture together 🙂
For the first time, I had a glimpse of how my baby boy would look like. At 25 weeks, the facial features are easily seen like how tall the nose is, how far apart the eyes and ears are, etc. I thank God that my baby passed the CAS, everything was normal, even the fingers and toes were counted using the 4d ultrasound machine.

At The Medical City, the OB interprets the images seen on the monitor and screens almost all concerns mothers would have about the baby. This would include signs of Down Syndrome and Spina Bifida. The machine is capable of targeted scans on the baby’s heart, brain, lungs, bladder, eyes, etc. I am surprised at how powerful the machine was – I clearly saw the 4 chambers of my baby’s heart which were all okay including all other organs imaginable.
The Color Doppler Test would inform doctors whether mothers are prone to pre-eclampsia by showing off how blood travels to and from the baby.
I shared this memorable event of course with Daddy Az, and mommy bloggers 🙂 We were able to take the time staring at the little boy and talking about his health. Questions were answered by the friendly doctors including Dra. Chua, OB-GYN.
