Ashton celebrated his first birthday yesterday and it’s been a week that I have been training myself not to cry when the boy blows his first birthday candle. Mind you, I was successful at that.
My little boy who is growing up fast is still as adorable as the first time I saw him. It is hard to get over the fact that this little person was in my tummy. I don’t get tired telling him of this story. To date, Ashton can now say “la la la” and his favorite vowel seems to be “e”. His favorite show is Blue’s Clues and I planned on making him a Blue’s Clues cake yet settled with the Up Disney cake from Goldilocks.
We never really intended to setup a party so it was a simple one with relatives from both sides. This is the first time I prepared for a child’s birthday celebration and I am lucky everyone pinched in. Thank you to Ashton’s grandparents, aunts, Tita Len, and all Ashton’s guests for making it to his party.
We missed Anya but she sent a special video for Ashton. Right now, Ashton is by the gates waiting for his presents from down under.
I dearly wish that I can keep up working very hard for Ashton as I want to give him the best of everything, never mind if I break a bone or two – that’s what calcium supplements are for. I wish for him a memorable, positive childhood that he can look back to with admiration when he is older.
As a mom of one year, and to be honest, it is a struggle to both provide for and care for my son. More and more I am looking for the best options for me and Ashton, if I can clone myself three times – I may have already done so.
I hope God blesses us continually and help me in raising a good, responsible, and gentleman named Ashton 🙂
