I suppose all new moms have experienced a lot of baby shoe shopping boo-boos. From getting a size too small or too big, to stocking new and unused shoes until you forget you have it and your child has outgrown them.
Babies and toddlers also naturally squirm around when fitting shoes (especially girls shoes), it’s tricky to find out if they are comfortable or not. A friend showed me this video on how to fit shoes properly. This video is a bit OC it seems, but I like the tips!

With Ashton, I choose shoes that have holes around the sides. It keeps his feet fresh and smelling good unlike when shoes are too enclosed that the feet cannot breathe through. Babies outgrow shoes very fast so I will recommend for moms not to go overboard shopping.
Ashton received lots of shoes from relatives and I make sure I see them every time and check if they already fit my little boy’s tootsies. I also like socks that have a shoe design because babies really don’t need shoes if they cannot walk yet, right? I also feel Ashton is more comfy in these socks. Yet, he is getting big and so the need for grown up shoes.
Writing this makes me feel how Ashton has outgrown lots of his baby socks, shoes, onesies, and blankies. His baby blankies now look like his towel yet once, he was a tiny creature swaddled in them 🙂
