My well-behaved son receiving the Sacrament of Baptism
Finally, my little boy now belongs to God and is a part of the Christian family 🙂 Ashton was baptized yesterday, September 28 4.30PM at the EDSA Shrine San Lorenzo Chapel. The sacrament was well attended by his godparents, friends, and relatives.
With godparents Jeff, Mariel, and Lian
The ceremony only lasted for around 20 minutes which was very solemn and organized. My husband and I even attended a parent’s seminar in order for Ashton to be granted a baptism here. The chapel had a holy ground where the sun shone towards an oasis of holy water. Oh I wished I too was baptized here.
My husband and I wore matching colors unexpectedly
Family and friends were comfortably seated at the chapel benches while parents and god parents stood on the baptistry. This way, everyone could view the momentous pouring of water onto the baby’s head. Not the usual overcrowded setup.
Ashton looked really pogi in the white outfit I chose for him
Unlike other churches, there was only one candle required and I had one of the godparents, Jeff hold it in behalf of everyone else. The priest also had an assistant who tied the white garment around Ashton’s neck.
I’m a proud happy mommy
We are lucky we landed on this church for a well-organized, efficient, and solemn baptism experience for everybody.
My happy family 🙂
If you want your baby to be baptized here at the EDSA Shrine, you must bring your baby’s birth certificate copy to their office and choose a date & time. You and your husband must attend the parent’s seminar on any Saturday, 8AM-12NN. There are no fees involved but donations are welcome and a receipt is issued for every donation to the church.
