Everyday I squeeze my brain and think of what to feed my 8 month old. Ashton’s doctor said he did not gain weight this month but he grew a lot taller. When she said that, I realized I have been feeding Ashton with too much grains and fruits, but not much vegetables.
I thought really hard about these but some of you might see this as a no-brainer. For a new mom like me, this list will help you in your baby daily menu.
You’ll need a blender. I try hard to teach Ashton texture but he doesn’t have teeth yet anyway. I grind the food to become easily edible yet retain some texture. My 8 month old spews chunks of food because it makes his mouth uncomfy.
1. Potatoes + Carrots + Bananas : steam or boil potatoes and carrots. Combine in a blender, 1 part potato, 1 part carrots, and 1/2 banana. Ashton loves this. Thank God!
2. Potatoes + Apple
3. Potatoes + Banana
4. Apple + Banana
I know, I know. This is too elementary but these are the grocery items readily available. I have to think of how to include leafy veggies. Two combinations I can think of are eggplant + tomatoes, fish + herbs.
Please do share your recipes! Sometimes I feel frustrated like this especially when I spend time preparing food only for Ashton to not like it. Lately I feel I am doing all the work (not good!), including finding a
door hardware. Gah, I wish I have more time to invent recipes for my son.
