Breastfeeding Lumps

It’s been more than 3 weeks since I started breastfeeding and I had no problems expressing my milk using my Avent breast pump. Until last week, I noticed a small lump on the bottom part of my right breast. I asked my OB 3 days after and told her the lump does not disappear. It’s like a small marble, smooth to the touch, and seems to be movable. She said that it could be milk and it will be hard to assess since I am still nursing.

2 days after, another lump appeared on the top part of my breast, near my ‘cleavage’. It has the same nature, marble-like and smooth. These lumps have been on my head ever since and I cannot concentrate on working/blogging and on my husband and baby. Why? because all the materials I r,ead online are really scary! I don’t want to get any type of cancer, my grandpa just died of it at 80 years old last month x.x

I will see my OB this Tuesday and would like to get more information, if it looks suspicious then I should bring myself to a specialist. Most breastfeeding moms would get lumps because of clogged milk ducts or mastitis. I tried putting warm towel over the lumps today but it didn’t make any difference. I should try again today.

I’ve forgotten about my baby blues and irritability because of these lumps and I wish I can resolve them right away. Have you experienced this?

While I was researching, I chanced upon this Wyoming adoption agency specializing in Russian orphans website talking about Wyoming Children’s Society. To know more about them, click here.
