Can you see our baby? 🙂 6 weeks old
First visitor stamp from Medical City. Azrael’s stamp is still attached to his jacket.
November 4, 2009 – Our first visit to the Obgyne. We scheduled to wake up at 6AM and leave at 7AM to be the first in line at Medical City. We have not decided on an OB yet because we do not know anybody. We haven’t told anyone and could not ask any family members x.x The customer service at The Medical City told us we can simply go to the hospital, choose from a list of available OBs, and go directly to their respective clinics.
Daddy is scared of being inside the hospital
We woke up at 9AM, and left at 10AM.
By this time, I made the conscious effort to eat a proper breakfast just in case I am really pregnant. The bus ride was long and it was also raining hard. Azrael and I wore matching white polo shirts and looked like serious parents-to-be 🙂
I chose the clinic at the 5th floor, where most OBs are and I waited in line for Dra. Castro-Belen. She was not present and had a reliever whose name is Dra. Villanueva. Azrael and I did not know what to tell the OB but simply we began by saying how we got a positive result from a pregnancy test kit. The doctor saida loud Congratulations! that would excite any future parent. To be 100% sure, she ordered an ultrasound.
Women’s Health Center at The Medical City
That we did, Azrael was feeling dizzy because of hospital smell. He is nervous being inside hospitals but he has to get used to it. I toured him around and told him how nice Medical City is and how it feels more of a hotel than a hospital. I really love it here. And so we reached the Women’s Health Center and signed up for an ultrasound. Both of us were trigger happy with our mobile cameras until my name was called.
It was my first time to get a Transvaginal Ultrasound. The old lady in front of me told me it will hurt, but I did not feel uncomfortable or any pain at all. The lady technician called Azrael from outside and when he came in, she pointed our new little baby!
Picture from the Ultrasound Monitor
There it was, I wanted to cry but Azrael will laugh at me so I just held back my tears of joy. When she zoomed in to show the heartbeat, it really was like a miracle. Azrael took a photo of the monitor and the technician also gave us our first baby pictures from the ultra sound.
It was a monumental day in our lives and again, we celebrated by eating tapsilog at the hospital canteen.
