Home and Living: Do you believe in luck? Happy Chinese New Year!

Xin yin kuai le! This year is Ashton’s first Chinese New Year and I’ve added it to the roster of things to celebrate with my son 🙂 My aunt Helen has been keen on Feng Shui for many years now, yet no one had the same inclinations as her. Until this year, I wanted to make her happy as well as to try Feng Shui for myself.

On the eve of Chinese New Year, we visited World of Feng Shui at SM Mall of Asia. Lots of people shopping for luck, including antique hardware reproductions but the staff were all knowledgeable and helpful for beginners like us. Therefore, I returned their kindness by buying a lot of lucky charms! It will be unlucky to tell you how much I’ve spent but I am sure it is a big amount.

The staff said that luck shouldn’t be thrifted, he has a point.

We also attended Tang’s Chinese New Year surprise, complete with a spectacular fireworks show that had more fireworks and were longer than the usual display at Mall of Asia. We had the best view and Ashton loved the fireworks! 🙂

We were also treated with an almost Chinese variety show complete with dragon dancers, wu shu performers, and the sexy dancers, Metamorphosis.

At home, I prepared the usual tikoy and served other sweets.

And by 12AM, I kissed my little buddha a happy new year 🙂 Wishing that we will be together forever and have more money!
