Last weekend, my family and I were in Luneta to celebrate Independence Day. It was amazing to find lots of activities, booths, and programs for everyone. This colorful and truly Pinoy food truck was a standout.
It’s called the Joy Ride and if you’re instagramming it, you use #JoyRidePH. The novelty of food trucks is that they don’t stay in one place for a long time. The Joy Ride by NutriAsia food truck will travel and park around Metro Manila, so says one of the staff serving mouthwatering but easy to eat food!
In just a few minutes, we found ourselves lining up the food truck. Each food item is very affordable (from P40-P80 each ) and is proudly Filipino in taste but with a twist!
Here’s what we had:
Spicy Adoburrito Wrap, Pinoy Chicken Slider, Siga Bagnet Wrap, and the bestselling Skinny Chix.
If you catch Joy Ride, I recommend the Spicy Adoburrito Wrap eaten with Skinny Chix. Skinny chix is crispy and juicy chicken skin that comes in smoked barbecue, cheese, and sour cream flavor.
Also ask for these Locally Blended Juice Drink. The Guyabano is a bestseller but I only got Dalandan. It’s a refreshing homegrown fruit juice made with locally sourced fruits. This is also a product of NutriAsia.
Promodizers were in the area and explained to us that the flavoring for Skinny Chix is actually Nutri Asia’s recently launched, first-in-the-market Golden Fiesta Big Crunch Fry and Shake. It’s a 3 in 1 product where you get a batter poweder mix, cheese (or barbecue, sour cream) powder, and a bag you can shake and flavor your food in. Hooray for free samples!
How To Use Golden Fiesta Fry and Shake
So we were able to get all 3 flavors at the Joy Ride booth. It’s been a week since and just awhile ago, I was able to use Fry and Shake for the first time!
The food truck inspired me to create my own version of Skinny Chix but healthier. So for my son’s lunch, I prepared my Fry and Shake Cheesy Chicken Breasts! I used the batter mix and after frying, poured the cheese powder in the free shaker bag.
Then, I dropped in the chicken breasts one by one and shake them all up until the chicken is covered in cheese. Tada!
I serve them with UFC Banana Ketchup and my son loves it. Perfect for meals before kids go to school or pambaon that’ll fill their stomach and give them energy for a long time.

My grade schooler also can’t wait for us to use the other cheese, barbecue, and sour cream in making potato wedges at home – much cheaper vs. buying from the stall! Plus, this product comes with the batter mix that you can dip just about anything in that you’d like to fry, potatoes included.
Sometimes we need to inject creativity in the kitchen and try new things. Buti nalang na-inspire ako by this Joy Ride Food Truck! I hope that we bump into the food truck again for an amazing #foodspiration experience.
Happy cooking and eating, Mommy and Baby!
