S&R Back-to-School Finds

It’s June and my son’s school supplies list is ready to be shopped. But here’s a Mommy Lace tip before shopping – shop at home first! Check your kid’s bags, boxes, drawers, and closets for unused and extra school supplies that you can reuse this school year.

Remember, it is not necessary that everything is new. This is a great opportunity to teach your kids about saving things. Especially if you choose quality school supplies that can last several years. This made me rethink where I should go shopping in time for school. My first choice was Baclaran but no one wanted to go with me since by this time, the flea market would be very crowded with fellow parents. Up until I went to S&R to renew my membership did I realize that S&R is a top convenient destination for quality school supplies.

I enjoy how S&R Imus changes their product displays on a monthly basis, for June – all school supplies are conveniently and orderly displayed up front for parents to see. Everything is here and I also like the choices, brands, designs, and the price of their school supplies!

My son is going to be Grade 1 this year, and he needs 8 writing notebooks. These notebook bundles are practical and the design as well as paper quality will encourage kids to keep writing!

There are all sorts of paper sizes also. Mommy Lace tip: if the school did not provide a “things to buy list”, do ask them what KIND of notebook and paper are required. For my Grade 1, all he needs is a Grade 1 writing pad and a spelling booklet.

Nice to buy if your kids need bigger bags this year and if you want something that would withstand wear and tear longer. There are cheaper school bags out there but what I like about branded bags is how they are properly stitched/put together that you don’t end up with a torn bag at the middle of the year.

While browsing S&R I saw many shoppers grab this 1 liter Coleman jug. This was recently on sale but the regular price is still okay at P359.95

The big school has a canteen but I want to stick giving packed lunch and snacks. If you are giving your kids allowance, it’s a good way to teach them how to budget but for me – I will just teach my son when we are buying more important goods or services. My family will benefit more from packed meals and snacks because of all the saving and healthier options.

It’s too early to buy “baon” for school but these buy 1 take 1 muffins are hard to resist. Good to have at home for unexpected guests or simply, for kids and parents to enjoy during their downtime.
