Our family weekend was made more fun and special at the McCormick Flavor Nation festival. Watch our experience:
The celebration was held at the BGC Amphitheater and although we had to travel – it was all worth our effort. Here’s why:
1. FREE Admission – while other families are enjoying Labor Day weekend out of town, we enjoyed this one of a kind food festival experience right at the heart of BGC. No entrance fees, corkage, or table rentals. Upon entering the venue, we were given McCormick Flavor Nation passports and my son even received a McCormick kite also for free! 🙂
2. FREE food and samples – With our McCormick passports in tow and like other attendees, we were able to access generous samples of the latest McCormick Noodle and Seasoning Mix. These were the Laksa, Pad Thai, Palabok, Birthday Noodles, and my favorite – the Chap Chae.
Each sample was a meal in itself, we were even able to take leftovers to enjoy and share with family at home.
3. FREE cooking demos – when it comes to cooking, us moms are fast learners and with the different McCormick Flavor Nation booths, I learned how to use McCormick Noodle and Seasoning mixes in 4 easy steps. My son’s birthday is coming up and the McCormick birthday noodles will be my secret recipe for our family and friends.
Manila’s top chefs also showcased and sold their signature dishes. Our picnic table was simply overflowing with food and yes flavors too! Our top favorites from the chef booths are the savory paella and callos of Chef Bernice Pimentel and the classic churros of Chef Jordi Barraca.
4. FREE Activities and Games – McCormick setup giant checkers and jenga for the kids and kids at heart. Me and my son enjoyed playing the giant checkers – it also helped us move after all those eating.
There is also a FREE photo booth where Ashton and I had our photos taken and printed as souvenir.
5. Chill and relaxed vibe – I really appreciate the event setup of this food festival. There were giant outdoor fans that worked like air conditioning, several security that looked serious and very capable, and the friendly McCormick staff from the booths to the chefs who had huge smiles whenever we approached their stalls.
It was an event for all and everyone who simply shared the love for good food. I can’t believe we missed last year’s McCormick Flavor Nation festival, now I make sure to keep an eye on the McCormick Facebook Page for other activities that my family can enjoy.
