I cannot count how many times I’ve said how babies grow fast, I thought it was only a cliche but now I know it’s true. Ashton is now over a month old and I am happy to say that we’ve somehow learned to adjust our own clock to meet the baby’s demand.
Ashton gets even better at breastfeeding
One torn that was plucked out of our sleepless throats is how Ashton doesn’t need to be exposed to sunlight on a daily basis. It was really hard for me to wake up at 6.30AM when that’s just when I can start sleeping. Now Ashton and I do our sunbathing time thrice a week. I just open up the windows and we lay together on the bed where a significant patch of sunlight falls on us.
About sleeplessness, it’s helpful that my husband and Ashton have a boy’s night where it’s just daddy and him from 1AM to 7AM. That way, I get to have continuous sleep and increase my milk supply and regain enough strength to tend to the baby for an entire day.
Ashton has also gotten better in direct breastfeeding. When it’s me and him at night, it is easier to soothe him when he cries. No need to fetch bottles and refrigerated breast milk 🙂 I’ve also realized how happy Ashton is when he feeds from the breast, maybe he feels secure that way.
Me, I like sleeping with Ashton on the bed so I can cuddle him whenever I want to 🙂
