If you want to eat healthier, small changes like poaching an egg vs. frying it every morning is a good start. My backyard hens work hard in giving me fresh eggs daily and here’s a step by step on how I poach them:
I like poached eggs on whole wheat bread with a small amount of cheese. Top it with fresh dill or pepper. I don’t add salt.
1. Fill a small cooking pot with water, put under medium fire
2. Break egg in a small bowl – don’t beat it.
3. With a spoon, stir the hot water inside the pot to create a swirling movement
4. From the bowl, drop the egg in the center of the swirl – you will see that the swirling movement of the hot water helps in forming the egg.
5. Wait for the egg to float or about 5-7 minutes. Don’t allow water to boil.
