Add Tagaytay Flower Market to your Tagaytay itinerary. It is accessible by jeeps or tricycles within Tagaytay area. In the flower market, you can see rows of flower stores or stalls that sell different types of local and imported flowers. It is a beautiful and different place to visit where you can enjoy seeing colorful blossoms and buying some to enjoy at home.
Going there: Tricycles in Tagaytay are now also known as toktok or tuktuk. A special ride costs an average of P100, for jeeps it is around P10 depending where you are coming from. Ask to be dropped at Tagaytay Flower Market.
The area is open and similar to the fruits stands in Tagaytay but instead, they are selling flowers. You can buy arrangements, bouquets, or cut flowers that you can arrange yourself. I prefer cut flowers.
Here are some of the prices during my visit, it can also be a guide on what you can buy:
Stargazers = P240 per stem
Mixed Color Mums = P400 per bundle or P200 for half bundle
Pink Alstroemeria = P150-P200
Other flowers available include roses, daisies, sunflowers, orchids, and more flowers that are not ordinary and I don’t know what they are called.
Getting mixed color mums is a nice way to enjoy flowers without spending too much. They are colorful, strong, and can last for more than a week. Flowers are also nice to have when taking travel photos during your Tagaytay trip.
Stargazers are fragrant, have at least 3 buds that will continuously blossom, and are also sturdy. Like mums, they can last for 7-10 days or even longer depending on the room temperature and frequency of water changes. Stargazers can standalone and you don’t need to arrange or combine them with other flowers. Their smell is my favorite reason why I buy them, they can make your bedroom, living room, or dining area smell like a garden of flowers for several days!
After visiting the Tagaytay Flower Market, the experience continues at home or in your hotel room when it’s time to put your flower haul in vases or any vessel that can hold water. Arranging flowers is relaxing, relieves stress, and gives you peace and calm. Here are some of my arrangements from cut flowers bought in Tagaytay Flower Market.
Materials are 2 stems of stargazers, some alstroemeria, and half a bundle of mixed mums. Before you buy vases, shop around your house for unused vessels. Old jars, bottles, pitchers, can also be used and will look even more interesting.
